The Clemson Tigers have had first round exits from the tournament the past two seasons and the year before they made it all the way to the Elite Eight. Clemson hopes to get back to the tournament in 2026-27 and make it past the first round. The real question is, who is coming back for the Tigers?
So far six players are leaving Clemson, five by graduation, and one by the transfer portal. There could be more as the Transfer Portal season ramps up but as of March 27, 2026, here are the six players we know who are leaving.
- RJ Godfrey(Graduating)
- Dillion Hunter(Graduating)
- Jestin Porter(Graduating)
- Nick Davidson(Graduating)
- Butta Johnson(Graduating)
- Jake Wahlin(Transfering)
To start with the big names, RJ Godfrey is graduating and will be remembered at Clemson for a long time. RJ Godfrey was on the Elite Eight team in 2023, and then transferred to Georgia. Godfrey returned to the Tigers last offseason. Godfrey led the team in scoring and was the best player and most reliable on the team. Dillion Hunter, the younger brother of Chase Hunter, is graduating and is similar to Godfrey as he will be remembered. Him and Chase Hunter both stayed at Clemson and Dillion Hunter was a rare case of a guy who stayed all four years at the same school. A rare thing in College Basketball today.
Jestin Porter, Nick Davidson, and Butta Johnson are all graduating and are one and done players at Clemson. All transfers who came in last offseason, Butta Johnson provided a spark with his shooting against Iowa, Porter was a good shooter who could make some tough shots, and Nick Davidson’s highlight moment was against Boston College, where he scored 25 points and 21 points consecutively.
Jake Wahlin is the first guy to announce his intentions to the transfer portal, and there will probably be at least another guy to enter especially in today’s world.
Clemson has three newcomers so far, four star Guard Harris Reynolds from Atlanta, four star Center Will Stevens, and three star Guard Amare James. Harris Reynolds is the one that excites me the most, an elite guard who, honestly, could come in and be at least a bench player.
Clemson has ten players on the roster for 2026-27 currently:
Guards: Ace Bucker, Zac Foster, Harris Reynolds and Amare James.
Forwards: Carter Welling, Dallas Thomas, Chase Thompson, Trent Steinour, and Blake Davidson.
Center: Will Stevens.
Clemson has five roster spots to add transfers and I expect Brad Brownell to use it as he hopes to get the Tigers back to the tournament in 2027.
