Athlon Sports released their ACC Spring rankings and the Clemson Tigers made it into the top 5, being ranked fourth in the conference. The top 5 was,
1. Miami
2. Louisville
3. SMU
4. Clemson
5. Virginia Tech
Despite Clemson having a down year in 2025, we can expect that Dabo Swinney will not allow them to go too far down. Despite a downward spiral that has happened since Trevor Lawrence left, Dabo is still a top-tier coach in College Football. Dabo Swinney and Kirby Smart are the only two coaches currently in college with multiple national championships. With former Offensive Coordinator Chad Morris returning, Clemson fans are hopeful that they will improve on the offensive side of the ball. At many points last year Clemson looked abysmal as the Offensive Line could not hold up, Klubnik refusing to throw it deep, Adam Randall could not convert a third down and one and so many other things that could made the Tigers a Top 25 team if they were able to get them right. But a new era in Clemson is beginning after their 7-6 season, as Cade Klubnik is leaving along with starting Running Back Adam Randall. The Tigers offense has more question marks but Chad Morris sounds like he is going to correct things.
Projected Offensive starters:
QB: Christopher Vizzina
RB: Gideon Davidson
WR: Bryant Wesco Jr., T.J. Moore, Tyler Brown
TE: Olsen Patt-Henry
OL: Brayden Jacobs(LT), Collin Saddler(LG), Harris Sewell(C), Elyjah Thurmon(RG), Easton Ware(RT)
Now there is a “QB Competition” between Vizzina and Densen but no one should expect Dabo to not go with Vizzina unless he has a horrible game against LSU to open the 2026 season. Now some other notable backups are Chris Johnson, the transfer Running Back from SMU, and Christian Bentancur, a Sophomore Tight End. Also there are some other good options at Wide Receiver such as Cole Turner, Juju Preston and Freshman Naeem Burroughs.
The Tigers offense should be better, but I do think they will struggle against LSU. So when they struggle against LSU, every Clemson fan is going to trash not only Dabo Swinney, but also Chad Morris and Christopher Vizzina but what we have to understand is that the expectations for this team is not the CFP but simply to be competitive, make a bowl game and compete in the ACC. If Clemson goes 8-4, I will be happy but most Clemson fans will call for Dabo Swinney to be fired. As of now, here is my Clemson schedule prediction:
Sept. 5: @ LSU, loss, 0-1
Sept. 12: Georgia Southern, win, 1-1
Sept. 19: North Carolina, win, 2-1
Sept. 25: @ California, loss, 2-2
Oct. 3: Miami, loss, 2-3
Oct. 17: Charleston So., win, 3-3
Oct. 24: Virginia Tech, loss, 3-4
Oct. 31: @ Florida State, win, 4-4
Nov. 7: @ Syracuse, win, 5-4
Nov. 14: Georgia Tech, win, 6-4
Nov. 21: @ Duke, win, 7-4
Nov. 28: South Carolina, win, 8-4
So as of now my prediction is Clemson goes 8-4, and 5-3 in ACC play.
